OFFICIAL – World-class UCL winner set for January transfer move to Arsenal as player agrees terms with Edu Gasper today, open to sealing transfer immediately

Jermaine Pennant believes Brentford striker Ivan Toney would join Arsenal if they bid for him in January.

Much has been made of Arsenal’s interest in signing Ivan Toney this month, with Mikel Arteta’s side in need of a prolific goalscorer.

The Gunners have been linked with moves for a host of strikers, including the likes of Dominic Solanke and Victor Osimhen.

Arsenal are reportedly more likely to sign Toney over Osimhen, but striking a deal for the £60 million forward this month could prove to be difficult.

Indeed, journalist Ryan Taylor recently claimed that Arsenal simply won’t be able to fund a deal for the Englishman due to Financial Fair Play restraints.

But Jermaine Pennant has told Stadium Astro that he believes Toney would move to the Emirates Stadium if Arsenal come knocking.

Pennant believes Toney is keen on Arsenal switch
“If the offer is there then 100% he will go,” the former Liverpool man said. “So it’s all about if Arsenal come knocking on the door.

“He’s been a great servant for Brentford, he owes them a lot and he’s been very grateful for that. But as a player, you always want to go to that next step, that next challenge and Arsenal is a fantastic club and team challenging for trophies.

“It’s all about not will or if he wants to, it’s about if Arsenal put in a bid then 100% he will be going and scoring goals and making a huge difference to their tally of goals.”

Toney returned to action for Brentford yesterday following an eight-month band after breaching FA gambling guidelines.

The 27-year-old marked his return with a goal as Brentford picked up a much-needed 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest.

Arsenal also rediscovered their scoring touch on Saturday as they put five past Crystal Palace.

But talk over a move for Toney just doesn’t seem to be going away and it could be one that Arsenal revisit this summer.
