Arsenal are reportedly ‘on the case’ for €90 million Juventus centre-forward Dusan Vlahovic.
That’s according to a report from Tuttomercatoweb who claim that Arsenal could face competition from the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea for the 22-year-old Juve hitman.
Juventus are in all sorts of toruble at the moment, having received a 15 point deduction in Serie A. The Old Lady were accused of fixing their balance sheets by artificial gains from club transfers, as outlined here by BBC Sport.
As a result, some of their very best players may well now be up for grabs, with Champions League football unlikely in Turin for next season.
ARSENAL ON THE CASE FOR DUSAN VLAHOVIC
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta famously tried to sign the Serbia international from Fiorentina this time last year, but he opted to move to Juventus instead for around €75 million (The Guardian).
It has been suggested that Juve will now be willing to sell Vlahovic, but for no less than €90 million according to Corriere Torino (print edition January 16, page 15) .
Despite the 22-year-old’s struggles with Juventus, i still think he’d be an excellent signing for Arsenal, and he could be the missing piece of the puzzle for Arteta in his quest for world footballing domination.
The forward has been dubbed the ‘new Zlatan Ibrahimovic’ (talkSPORT). That is quite the comparison, but the Juventus ace is good enough to go on and emulate the Swedish legend.
Vlahovic is tall, powerful and is excellent at playing with his back to goal and when running in behind the opposition’s defence. The 22-year-old is a lethal finisher as well. He is an absolute powerhouse and has so many levels that he is still yet to reach.
The thought of a front three of Vlahovic, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli with Martin Odegaard just behind them must be a really tantalising one for the Arsenal fans.
It remains to be seen whether the Gunners board are prepared to shell out such a huge transfer fee for one player though, either in the January transfer window or the summer.
