Personal terms agreed: Man united have agreed terms with £30m Spanish defender to join in January
Manchester United have joined the race to sign Genoa star Radu Drăgușin.
That’s according to ProSport, who state the 21-year-old defender is ‘wanted’ by the Premier League side.
It’s claimed Manchester United see the centre-back as an ideal candidate to bolster their back four. Therefore, they are showing concrete interest and ‘launched the operation’ to sign him.
The report says Manchester United have ‘got on the phone to solve’ the operation.
ProSport state the English club are willing to make a ‘significant financial effort’ to bring Drăgușin to Old Trafford. They add their source have informed them the talks are being held for a potential deal in January.
Last month, his agent Florin Manea said Genoa “want €30m” and the same figure is now quoted by ProSport. Taking the price and his quality into account, it’s said Erik ten Hag’s side believe the Romanian would be an ‘excellent solution’ for them.
Barcelona, Arsenal, AC Milan, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are watching the player and have also asked for information about him.
It’s worth noting the defender’s agent, and even his family, have been happy to repeatedly speak to the media about transfer rumours.
The agent has been camped out in London and it was only a matter of time before Manchester United claims arrived. That doesn’t rule out the Drăgușin claims, or even talk the talented defender down, but it does give some context over where the information will be coming from.
