Personal terms agreed: Man united set to seal deal with £63,000-A-WEEK superstar imminently as Man UTD wants to sell Tominay and two other star to fund transfer
Manchester United are closing in to reinforce their left back position by hiring the services of Marc Cucurella on loan from Chelsea.
The fullback, who earns around £9.1million a year, has secured personal terms of a contract with the 25-year-old.
Renowned Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, posted on his X account:
“Understand Manchester United have reached an agreement in principle with Cucurella on personal terms. Green light arrived on player side.”
“Man United won’t negotiate for any other left back now as they want to get Cucurella deal done with Chelsea”
The Old Trafford outfit had also submitted a proposal to hire the services of Marcos Alonso from Spanish champions, Barcelona.
However, if words of Romano are to be believed then United will not be pursuing the Catalan defender and are fully focused on landing Cucurella.
The one-capped international is a proven Premier League player but he mainly excelled during his time with Brighton.
Unfortunately, with the entire Chelsea team, he struggled big time in the last campaign as the Blues ended the season in the bottom half of the table.
This season, he has not featured for the London club as yet and it is likely he will be absent from tonight’s League Cup fixture against Wimbledon as he closes in on a move to Man Utd.
Have your say – In the absence of Shaw and Malacia, is Marc Cucurella good enough to improve the left back position for Erik ten Hag?
