Following a disappointing start to this season, Manchester United decided to sack Erik ten Hag and appoint Ruben Amorim as the new head coach to turn the situation around.
But, things haven’t improved at all, instead, United have been displaying even poor performances in recent times.
When the Red Devils dismissed Ten Hag, they were in 13th place. Now, they have dropped down to 14th.
GiveMeSport claim that Amorim wants to strengthen the squad in January to implement his style of football at Old Trafford and reinforcing the LWB position is his priority.
Man Utd are plotting a move to sign a new left-sided defender within the next two weeks and have been keeping a close eye on a few potential options with Fulham’s Antonee Robinson high on their wish-list.
Fulham don’t want to lose him in mid-season but they could change their stance should they receive an offer of around £40m. The player currently earns around £50,000-a-week in salary at Craven Cottage hence agreeing on personal terms with him shouldn’t be an issue for Amorim’s side.
However, the report say Man Utd aren’t the only club interested in the 27-year-old as Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City are also keen on luring him.
The USA international has been in excellent form thus far this season and has featured in every league game, providing seven assists. He even registered two assists against Liverpool at Anfield – where his side held the Reds to a 2-2 draw.
Robinson is a Premier League proven player so he would be a risk-free acquisition for the record Premier League champions if they purchase him this year.
