REISS NELSON SAYS £160K-A-WEEK MAN IS A ‘GENIUS’, LOVED BY EVERYONE AT ARSENAL
Reiss Nelson has told the Evening Standard that manager Mikel Arteta is a “genius” and claims the Arsenal manager is loved by everyone at The Emirates – as the Spaniard continues to push his side into a Premier League title race.
Arsenal have been incredible during the first part of the season. £160k-a-week Arteta has watched his side win 17 of their 21 games in all competitions. The Gunners finished top of their Europa League group, despite defeat to PSV.
Not only that, but they go into the World Cup break at the top of the Premier League table. They have dropped just five points from a possible 42, losing to Manchester United and drawing with Southampton. Nelson has come back.
Indeed, the England Under-21 international has only appeared seven times – two appearances coming in the league. But, he came off the bench against Nottingham Forest and netted a brace in a 5-0 win. Nelson raved about Arteta.
“That’s one of the things we all love about Mikel, his man-management skills. In my view, he is just a genius in how he takes the sessions, how he takes the games, how he communicates with people and delivers on a match day.”
The feel-good factor is alive and well at Arsenal – and among the club’s expectant fanbase. He is spreading game time out among his players, everyone is getting a go, everyone is fresh, and they are fighting at the top of the table.
Silverware is a real possibility, and even winning the Premier League title is realistic. Especially, when Manchester City lost to Brentford in their final game before the break – and Arsenal beating Wolves. There is a five-point gap.
Can Arsenal maintain it? One thing that has been attributed to Arsenal in recent seasons and certainly under Arteta, is that they tail off during the second half of the season. January will be crucial to add a bit of strength in depth.
