Report details huge £30,000-a-week injury boost for Arsenal ahead of London derby vs. Chelsea
Arsenal could have their star forward Bukayo Saka back in time to face Chelsea this Sunday following a reported injury update on the England international ahead of the weekend.
According to the Sun, the Gunners could be with Saka for the trip to Stamford Bridge in what could be one of Arsenal’s biggest tests of the season, with Chelsea enjoying an incredible run of form under Graham Potter that has seen the Blues lose just once since the English manager’s appointment.
Saka came off with an injury early on in Arsenal’s 5-0 win against Nottingham Forest as the 21-year-old suffered a nasty kick that forced the youngster off, with his replacement Reiss Nelson, going on to steal the show for the Gunners with two goals and an assist.
Whilst there is an obvious call for Nelson to retain his spot in the XI, Saka’s importance to the Arsenal team could see the winger return to the fold if the Gunners medical team deem the attacker fit enough to feature against the Blues, with a result at Stamford Bridge something that will push the north London side’s hopes of a title bid.
Indeed, Saka has been one of the outstanding players in the Premier League this season, with the £30,000-a-week superstar scoring four goals and assisting five in the English top-flight as Arsenal remain top of the division. And for fans, having the forward back for Sunday will be massive.
Whilst Arsenal’s record at Stamford Bridge has been surprisingly good under Mikel Arteta, the Basque manager has struggled against Potter’s side in recent years, and having Saka in the matchday squad will greatly increase the Gunners’ hopes of another famous win.
Chelsea has historically proven to be one of Arsenal’s hardest away grounds, and whilst the record under Arteta has been impressive, the Gunners’ boss will still want his best players fully fit for the occasion, and this latest update surrounding Saka is exactly what fans needed to hear.
After all, a good result at Stamford Bridge will be huge for Arsenal’s outside shot of winning the title, and having Saka in the team will go a long way if the north London side are to claim something in west London.
