Arsenal

Report: ‘Exceptional’ Arsenal talent not involved in training today, he was only player missing.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has been putting his Gunners through their paces ahead of their final Europa League group game.

The north Londoners host FC Zurich at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night.

Having missed the opportunity to wrap up qualification for the last 16 last week, Arsenal will look to finish the job.

The Gunners remain top of Group A despite losing to PSV Eindhoven a week ago.

Meanwhile, the best Zurich can hope for is a spot in the Europa Conference League.

And Arsenal have reportedly been handed a significant fitness boost ahead of the match.

‘I don’t see any further than that’

According to several sources including football.london, Bukayo Saka trained with the Gunners on Wednesday.

The 21-year-old limped off just before the half-hour mark in the Gunners’ 5-0 win over Nottingham Forest last weekend.

However, Arteta was quick to play down suggestions that Saka could face an extended spell on the sidelines.

“It was a bad kick,” football.london quoted him as saying.

“Right from the beginning, he was limping, but I don’t see any further than that.

“Let’s see how he is in the next couple of days. I think both [foot or ankle].

“He got kicked a few times and he wasn’t comfortable.”

As well as Saka, the likes of Oleksandr Zinchenko and Mohamed Elneny reportedly featured in the session.

As per football.london and Charles Watts, only Emile Smith Rowe was absent from training.

As per football.london, Smith Rowe is not expected back for another month after undergoing groin surgery at the end of September.

However, the 22-year-old is likely to be in attendance at the game after revealing he supports the team at every home game.

Smith Rowe is an ‘exceptional‘ talent on and off the pitch, and hopefully it won’t be long before he’s back to full fitness and dazzling for Arsenal.
