Richarlison says Arsenal and Chelsea wanted him before he joined Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur new-boy Richarlison has claimed that Arsenal and Chelsea both wanted to sign him before he joined Spurs this summer.

Antonio Conte was very keen on a new attacker at the end of last season. Spurs decided very quickly that Richarlison was the man they wanted, and Daniel Levy sanctioned a £60 million deal (Sky Sports) to bring him i n.

After Richarlison decided that he wanted to leave Everton, many clubs took a serious interest in him.

Tottenham, as we know now, were really keen, as were Spurs’ fierce London rivals Chelsea and Arsenal, with reports claiming at the time that both clubs tried to sign him.

Richarlison was asked about the interest from the two London sides, and the Brazilian confirmed that both Chelsea and Arsenal wanted to sign him this summer.

The Brazilian has scored two goals and provided two assists in just four starts so far, and Conte has even preferred him to Dejan Kulusevski in recent games.

Reports have revealed that the Tottenham boss and every player at the club have been seriously impressed by Richarlison. His work ethic seems to have blown everyone away, and he has become a really popular figure at the club.

Fellow summer signing Ivan Perisic, who has played with plenty of world-class players over the years, loves Richarlison too. He branded the Brazilian as ‘amazing’ and claimed that he likes to ‘have a player like him in the team’.
