RIO FERDINAND SAYS ONE ARSENAL PLAYER WAS ‘A JOKE’ THIS WEEKEND
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Rio Ferdinand has been dissecting Arsenal’s performance against Crystal Palace this weekend, and he’s been full of praise for Gabriel Jesus.
The Brazilian attacker was on fire this weekend against Palace. Yes, he didn’t get his name on the scoresheet, but he was an absolute menace in the final third, causing all sorts of problems for the Eagles’ backline.
Ferdinand says that Jesus’ performance was ‘a joke’, stating that he thought the striker had an unreal first-half performance.
Ferdinand discussed Jesus’ debut.
“The first half was really good, Jesus was a joke, Jesus was unreal in that first half. I still want him to be more of a number nine though, I don’t want him to keep coming back to the play because I have him in my fantasy team, Jesus and Kane let me down this week,” Ferdinand said.
Jesus’ debut was certainly one to get excited about, but the scary thing is that there’s more to come from the striker.
Indeed, Jesus blew Ferdinand away, and he didn’t even score against Palace!
As we saw in pre-season, Jesus isn’t the type of player to waste any chances in front of goal, and while he may not have found the net against Palace, his all-around play indicated that there may well be plenty of goals to come from the striker this season.
Yes, Ferdinand didn’t earn many Fantasy points from Jesus this weekend, but it’s fair to say that the Brazilian won’t disappoint going forward.
Arsenal supporters were incredibly excited to see Jesus make his debut this weekend, and it’s hard to imagine many will have been disappointed by what they’ve seen from the centre-forward.
