RONALDINHO FAVORITE: Arsenal open talks to sign £88m Tottenham target that has blown Ronaldinho away

Barcelona wonderkid is reportedly a target for both Arsenal and Tottenham and now, CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs has told Give Me Sport that the Gunners have actually opened talks with the player’s representatives.

Spain international Fati, 20, came into this season as a player with huge potential. Even taking the no.10 shirt from Lionel Messi at the Nou Camp. But this term, he has started just nine of 32 games – having a hand in nine goals.

Keeping Ousmane Dembele in the summer and signing Raphinha – who has improving greatly – as well as Ferran Torres, has limited Fati’s minutes. La Vanguardia say Arsenal and Spurs want to lure Fati to the Premier League.

Jacobs has previously told Caught Offside that Barcelona would consider fees of £88million. Now, Jacobs has told GMS that Arsenal have actually opened talks with Fati’s agents, at a preliminary stage, over signing the Barca ace.

“Arsenal have made a little bit of contact on the player’s side to try and see what his desire is and if he’s open to the Premier League. It’s going to take quite a large number from a Premier League club,” Jacobs told Give Me Sport.

While Fati has struggled to get into Xavi’s side regularly, he would still be a wonderful signing. At his age, he is one of the world’s most-exciting talents. Barcelona need cash, but with Fati, they would prefer to keep him at the club.

They would rather sell some of their high-earning players that are offering little. They did so in January, in the form of Memphis Depay – who has gone to Atletico Madrid. Fati has long been seen as the future of the Nou Camp.

Even Ronaldinho has been blown away by Fati – who has a contract at Barcelona until the summer of 2027. But, if he is frustrated by a lack of game time, then there is every chance that he would be interested in a move to London.
