‘Saka is just playing street football, Arsenal fans will never admit to this but that is the truth’: Pundit says £6 million Arsenal star more talented than Bukayo Saka interms of everything
Janusz Michallik has ranked the Brazilian star Gabriel Martinelli higher than his Arsenal teammate, Bukayo Saka.
The duo have been outstanding on the flanks for Mikel Arteta’s side in recent years, including producing their best season in Arsenal colours last time out.
It could be argued that Bukayo Saka is seen as the main guy. He is the popular one. Hale-End boy and the player that constantly starts and never gets subbed.
But former USMNT international Janusz Michallik thinks that the ‘ceiling is higher’ for Gabriel Martinelli than his English teammate, as he told ESPN.
Last season, the Brazil international scored 15 Premier League goals and assisted five, whilst Bukayo Saka netted 14 and assisted 11.
And if Arsenal are to win the Premier League title and get over the line, then they need their all-action wide men to sing and dance again.
Martinelli ‘better’ than Saka
“I actually think, in terms of ceiling, for me, Martinelli is a little bit better,” said Michallik. “He has had a little bit of an injury.
“This is a preference. I am not saying that Saka isn’t as good. But I just like what Martinelli offers in the game a little bit more.”
Price of Martinelli and Saka
In today’s transfer market, if you were to sell Martinelli and Saka, then you are getting £100 million+ for each player.
Given that Saka came through the academy and cost nothing, whilst Arsenal only paid £6 million (Goal) for Martinelli, then that’s pretty good going.
It just goes to show that you don’t need to always splash the cash on players in order to get to the next level. Sometimes you just need to be patient with talent and it will take you there.
