Saka want to lure his international teammate to sign for – Arsenal already approached him last summer,70£ bid made already – He has accepted to join Arsenal
Arsenal are currently on cloud nine after a fantastic win over Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby.
The Gunners recorded their first away win in the fixture since 2014, thanks to a Hugo Lloris own goal and a Martin Odegaard strike.
A report from Rudy Galetti, via Give Me Sport, has provided an exciting update for Arsenal fans.
Mikel Arteta will know how important being in the Champions League next season will be for their recruitment.
The Gunners have built a brilliant, young squad and the environment around the club appears to be very welcoming.
Unfortunately, they missed out on long-term target Mykhaylo Mudryk after Chelsea hijacked the deal.
They have since been linked with the likes of Raphinha and Ferran Torres, although time is running out in January.
The summer now looks like a much better window to try and bring in their desired targets.
Galetti has now revealed that Arsenal have made contact with West Ham United over captain Declan Rice.
The Emirates is looking like one of the most exciting destinations in world football right now.
Arteta will now be hoping they can convince the England international to make the short move to north London.
Arsenal make contact with Rice
Speaking to Give Me Sport, Galetti was asked if Arsenal have contacted West Ham about their captain: “Yes, just to collect preliminary information.
“It’s true that Arsenal have him in their sights. Declan Rice, unless there’s a sensational twist, will leave West Ham in the summer. Yes, first contact has already happened.”
The £70m midfielder has already made it clear that he has ambitions to play in the Champions League.
Arsenal look almost certain to be able to offer Rice that next season.
Arteta may also ask for help from one of his stars during the next international break to convince Rice to join Arsenal.
The midfielder has already said how big a fan he is of Bukayo Saka.
The idea of the pair lining up alongside each other at The Emirates will certainly excite plenty of Arsenal fans.
Now that Arsenal have made contact with West Ham over Rice, they’ll be hoping to get the ball rolling on a move.
The 24-year-old would add immediate quality of Arsenal’s midfield.
