Sky reporter claims Arsenal want ‘one of the biggest prospects’ in Europe, agents were in London last weekend to consider the offer

Arsenal, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are three of the clubs reportedly hoping to sign Ivan Fresneda.

90min recently reported that the Gunners, the Magpies and Spurs were in pursuit of the Real Valladolid talent.

Manchester United and Chelsea have also reportedly been plotting approaches for Fresneda, according to the outlet.

Sky Sports journalist Keith Downie has now provided an update on the state of play involving the 18-year-old.

Taking to Twitter, he said Newcastle and Arsenal “remain interested” in Fresneda.

As well as the Magpies and the Gunners, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund are also said to be in pursuit.

Downie reiterated claims that Fresneda’s representatives were in London at the weekend for talks with Premier League clubs.

And while Valladolid don’t want to lose their rising star, they’ll sell him for the right price, added the Sky reporter.

Arsenal, Newcastle and Spurs chasing top talent

Of all the clubs mentioned, Newcastle have been the most heavily linked with Fresneda.

Indeed, there was one report suggesting the Magpies had beaten the likes of Arsenal and Spurs to his signature.

However, that proved wide of the mark. The race still appears to be open for the youngster.

Whichever club signs Fresneda would be getting an exciting prospect who has been tipped for a great future.

Spanish outlet AS previously deemed Fresneda ‘one of the biggest prospects in European football’.

The teenager made his Valladolid debut last season and has clocked up 10 appearances overall for his club.

This term, Fresneda has featured seven times in La Liga for the newly-promoted outfit. A decent tally for such a young player.

Better still, his price tag isn’t particularly expensive for a Premier League club. Just £10million, according to reports.

Newcastle and Tottenham both need to bolster their ranks at right-back.

The Magpies could do with cover for Kieran Trippier, while Spurs could do with improvements on what they’ve got.

Although Arsenal aren’t in such strong need for cover in that position, Fresneda is nonetheless a top talent who many clubs will want.
