STAR RELEASED BY ARTETA HAS SCORED MORE THAN ANY ARSENAL PLAYER THIS SEASON

The Gunners have won 12 of their 13 games across all competitions this season and sit top of the Premier League table.

Nobody is saying Arsenal will win the title, but they’re a far better and more cohesive team to the one Lacazette left during the summer.

The Lyon hitman was released by Mikel Arteta upon the expiration of his contract.

And although Arteta’s side are clearly much better without Lacazette, the Frenchman is also better without Arsenal it would seem.

Lacazette scored two more Ligue 1 goals last weekend to bring his total for the campaign to six [Transfermarkt].

In fact, the 31-year-old has out-scored anybody in Arteta’s senior squad this season, with Gabriel Jesus [5] the North Londoners’ leading scorer thus far.

Of course, there’s no doubt that Ligue 1 is a less intense division than the Premier League and therefore scoring is probably quite a bit easier.

But Lacazette – who has found the net the same amount of times as Lionel Messi this season – got a lot of stick off Arsenal fans last term for only scoring twice from open play throughout the campaign.

And based on how he has adapted since returning to Lyon, it’s clear that he’s a much better number nine than he looked under Arteta last time around
