Striker’s representatives contact Arsenal as he looks to leave his club; Fans will love him
Arsenal are amongst the clubs to have been informed that Youssoufa Moukoko wants to leave Borussia Dortmund next year, according to a report from 90min.
The Gunners, of course, are on the lookout to sign a new striker in the January transfer window. Mikel Arteta’s men are facing the prospect of being without Gabriel Jesus for several months due to injury.
Reports from The Athletic on Monday claimed that Arsenal are considering a move for Matheus Cunha. But he is not the only forward target seemingly on the Gunners’ radar.
Arsenal informed Moukoko wants to leave
90min reports that Chelsea are stepping up their pursuit of Moukoko. The Blues have reached out to his representatives in the hope of signing the 18-year-old in a cut-price deal.
Moukoko is out of contract with Dortmund at the end of the season. And it appears that he has little intention of extending his stay at the Westfalenstadion.
90min suggests that Barcelona may be Chelsea’s biggest rival for Moukoko’s signature. However, the report adds that the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham have been informed by some involved in talks over his future that he does want to leave Dortmund next year.
Arsenal fans would be over the moon if Moukoko ended up at the Emirates. He is one of the most exciting prospects in world football, scoring six goals and contributing four assists in 14 Bundesliga appearances this season.
He is a player Erling Haaland labelled ‘amazing‘. And that is saying something considering what Haaland has been doing during his career.
He is potentially not yet as versatile as Arteta would probably like. Moukoko is largely untested away from the central striker position.
But he is only 18. He has all the time in the world to adapt and improve. And he will certainly take his game to a completely different level in the years to come.
It would be a surprise if Arsenal were not considering entering the race.
