Manchester United to face competition from Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool in their pursuit of Brighton midfield sensation Carlos Baleba.
According to a report from CaughtOffside, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are all ready to battle it out for the services of Carlos Baleba. The Brighton midfielder has made quite a name for himself with his impressive performances, and there could be a bidding war for him in the final phase of the transfer window.

Baleba joined LOSC Lille at the start of 2022. He worked his way into their first team, and his impressive rise earned him a move to the Seagulls in the summer of 2023. He has only gone from strength to strength since moving to England.

He has already featured in 77 matches for them and has even contributed towards six goals. The 21-year-old defensive midfielder is widely regarded as one of the best young midfielders in England. While he prefers playing in the holding role, he can even feature further up the pitch.

United are keen on signing Baleba
His massive potential has put him on the wishlist of the majority of the top clubs in England. Manchester United have been heavily linked with the Cameroonian midfielder in recent weeks. Having added a lot of firepower to his attack, Ruben Amorim now wants more depth and quality in midfield.

The club has identified Baleba as a priority target at the request of their manager, as the 21-year-old has a strong physical presence and is good at winning the ball back. He is exactly the type of player the Portuguese manager wants.

United to face competition from rivals
United have already contacted his agents but are yet to make an offer. Their pursuit of his signature won’t be easy as, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool are ready to rival them. The Blues see him as a long-term replacement for Moises Caicedo. Since they do not intend to let him leave, they might not make a move for Baleba this summer.

Meanwhile, Liverpool consider him an ideal fit for the holding role. He could be considered an upgrade of Wataru Endo, who is in the final phase of his career. As far as Arsenal are concerned, they are impressed by his tactical awareness and defensive abilities and are keeping tabs on him.

While there is no shortage of interest in the 21-year-old, Brighton do not intend to negotiate his departure this summer. As a result, signing him before the end of the window looks very difficult.
