Manchester United have been named as one of the numerous clubs to hold an interest in Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe this summer, though they may not have the finances to compete with Al-Hilal. However, the Old Trafford outfit certainly have the fringe players on offer to lure the Ligue 1 outfit into negotiations.

PSG have made it no secret that they want to offload Mbappe this summer after it became clear that he would become a free agent next summer, rather than activating the one-year extension option in his current contract.

The France international has insisted that he intends on remaining with the club, but interested parties will be hopeful of turning his head. Saudi side Al-Hilal have reportedly had a £259million bid for Mbappe accepted and are willing to pay him an eyewatering £13.3m per week, in what would break sporting records with ease.

However, United are among the Premier League clubs to have reportedly enquired about the 24-year-old, and Erik ten Hag could push for the higher powers at Old Trafford to open talks with PSG over a players-plus-cash deal. Diogo Dalot – £35m

Sacrifices will need to be made to fund a move for Mbappe, and parting ways with a right-back has to be an option. With Aaron Wan-Bissaka developing under Ten Hag’s guidance and stronger defensively, allowing Dalot to leave could reduce Mbappe’s price markedly – and is the ideal replacement for wantaway Achraf Hakimi.

Donny van de Beek – £11m

PSG have been willing to try and allow ex-Premier League stars to bounce back to form at their club, and Van de Beek could be the next player in the pipeline. The Dutchman is one of several players likely to be moved on this summer and a move to the Parc des Princes will prove very attractive to the player.

Amad Diallo – £15m

Despite Ten Hag wanting to work with Diallo next season, one must ponder how the winger would fit into his plans if Mbappe were to sign for the club. Allowing the Ivorian to depart as part of the move would therefore be a fair option, especially if a sell-on clause was to be included in his contract.

Anthony Martial – £13m

PSG are desperately searching for a striker and Martial looks the ideal option at the club considering how he has thrived in the Ligue 1 previously. The ex-Monaco star is now surplus to requirements at the Theatre of Dreams but concrete offers for his services have not arrived yet.

Jadon Sancho – £39m

As well as Dalot, another marquee player would need to head to France in order to reduce the price of Mbappe. Sancho has struggled to light up the Premier League since his move from Borussia Dortmund and a change of scenery may see him bounce back to his old form – a risk worth taking for PSG too now that Lionel Messi has left.

Fred – £17m

Another midfielder expected to leave United this summer is Fred, and he could be seen as a good quality depth option by PSG. Fulham are among the clubs interested in the Brazil international, though Ten Hag may favour facilitating a move abroad rather than a Premier League rival.
