Manchester United

Ten Hag is the real problem of this team, I must say He doesn’t have the ability to manage big teams yet so how He turn Man united to a small team within a couple of years”, Arsenal legend Patrick Viera blast Erik Ten Hag for Benching £70m Star that lead to their defeat yesterday

Manchester United suffered a humiliating 3-0 loss at the hands of bitter rivals Liverpool this afternoon. Here are our player ratings from the game.

(A score of 6 is around average)

Andre Onana 5 – Should have perhaps done better for Luis Diaz’s second goal. His distribution was below par.

Noussair Mazraoui 4 – Where was he for the first goal? Attempted a good shot towards the end of the opening 45 minutes that forced Alisson into a save.

Matthijs de Ligt 6 – Pretty solid before Liverpool broke the deadlock and seemed up for the fight. Some of his contributions prevented the Merseyside club from grabbing more goals.

Lisandro Martinez 3 – Just hasn’t looked like himself so far this season. Poor when playing out from the back and almost gave a goal away early in the second half when his pitiful pass was intercepted and Salah almost beat Onana again. Picked up a silly yellow card for a needless foul on Dominik Szoboszlai.

Diogo Dalot 5 – Mostly restricted to the left and was unable to keep Salah quiet.

Casemiro 1 – Awful performance. Just shambolic. His two mistakes in the first half directly led to Liverpool scoring. His passing was poor and he struggled with Liverpool’s intensity in the middle of the park. Offered next to nothing and it was no surprise he was taken off at the break. Last season should have been his last at Old Trafford.

Kobbie Mainoo 5 – Was one of United’s better performers up until his mistake for Liverpool’s third goal.

Bruno Fernandes 3 – Didn’t show up at all. There were some moments early on when he could have played Rashford or Zirkzee in but messed up the final pass.

Marcus Rashford 3 – Didn’t threaten as nearly enough as he should have.

Alejandro Garnacho 3 – Similar to Rashford. Perhaps his best role at the moment is coming on from the bench as an impact substitute.

Joshua Zirkzee 2 – Disappointing, especially in the first half. Looked off the pace and out of his depth. Kept getting the ball taken off him and made some poor decisions during crucial attacking moments. Slightly better in the second half but he surely couldn’t have played worse.

Substitutes
Toby Collyer 5 – Did much better than Casemiro. Kept it nice and simple.

Amad Diallo 5 – Tried to make a difference. Ran at the Liverpool defence and looked to get some shots off. Huge mistake not to start him.

Harry Maguire 5 – Did his job during the limited time he was on the pitch.

Christian Eriksen 5 – Not enough time to have an impact.

Erik ten Hag 1 – Should carry most of the blame for the woeful display of his players. United never got going and he never reacted to Liverpool’s growing dominance nor made changes to counter their threat. His decision to bench Amad, off the back of winning the Player of the Month award, was puzzling. His decision to take off Garnacho was booed by supporters, who made no secret of their displeasure with the change. Perhaps the most concerning is that the Reds don’t look any better than they did last season – when they finished eighth.
