TERMS AGREED: Man United on the verge of confirming their first major signing today, medical date fixed already, done deal imminent
Manchester United have been in talks to hire the services of Leny Yoro from Lille but will need a huge amount to secure his signature before deadline.
As per Christopher Michel, Man Utd find the defender ‘very exciting’ and the French side have told them a fee of around 80-90 million euros (£69m-£77m) will be accepted this month.
The German journalist has claimed that if the Red Devils wait for the summer transfer window, then they would be able to sign Yoro for around 50-60 million euros.
However, Man Utd do not want to pay such a fee for the 18-year-old center back, who is also on the radar of Barcelona.
The teenager only has 18 months left on his contract with Lille, so the above mentioned valuations, especially the fee of £69m-£77m required to sign him is extremely high.
Yoro has been top class in the current season and helped the Ligue 1 club keep 13 clean sheets in 20 starts and it is not surprising that top clubs want to hire his services.
If Man Utd wait for the summer, they will face heavy competition for the youngster’s signature.
Moreover, keeping in view the current defensive crisis at Old Trafford, Ten Hag really needs to strengthen the backline in the current transfer window.
