‘The durability’: Danny Murphy amazed by 30-year-old Arsenal player yesterday

Danny Murphy has praised Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka on Match of the Day on BBC One for his performance against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder has noted that Xhaka plays well every week and has hailed the “durability” of the Arsenal and Switzerland international star.

The BBC Sport pundit was impressed by the shift put in by the 30-year-old player against Leicester.

Mikel Arteta’s side won the match 1-0.

Xhaka started the game on the left of a midfield-three.

The Swiss star played for the entire 90 minutes.

Murphy said about Xhaka: “Xhaka again, the durability of him, he plays every week, he is at it.”

BIG PLAYER FOR THE GUNNERS

In our view, Granit Xhaka is one of the best and most important players for Arsenal.

The 30-year-old is a more mature player now and is a regular in the Gunners’ starting lineup.

Xhaka does not always get the plaudits and is an unsung hero for Arsenal.

If the Gunners go on to win the Premier League title this season, then Xhaka will have to be given huge credit.

The Swiss star is a leader in the middle of the park, and Arsenal are a better team with him in it.
