‘They are going to lose this one’: Jeff Stelling predicts result of West Ham vs Arsenal in Premier League for Sky Sports
Jeff Stelling predicts result of West Ham United vs Arsenal in Premier League for Sky Sports
Jeff Stelling has made his prediction for the Premier League clash between West Ham and Arsenal at the London Stadium on Sunday (16 April).
The Hammers earned a vital three points when they beat Fulham last weekend, saving manager David Moyes’ job in the process of moving out of the relegation zone on goal difference.
But this weekend they host league leaders Arsenal, and while predicting the results for Sky Sports’ Super 6 (13 April) he admitted he is backing the Gunners to claim a “comfortable” win.
“The title race continues with only six points in it, but I think it will stay that way with comfortable wins for Man City and Arsenal over strugglers Leicester and West Ham respectively,” he said.
Can’t lose
Obviously we’re coming up against the league leaders and the best team in the country right now arguably, but we simply cannot afford to lose this game.
Having beaten Fulham after that thumping loss to Newcastle we redeemed our position a little bit, but losing again just gives the other teams around us a chance to drag us even further into trouble.
The game in hand that we have is a bit of a false hope right now, and we need to play games as if we don’t have that. We cannot afford to lose too many more games.
With the fans in the stadium likely to be uneasy about the fixture, we have to start well and stay competitive for as long as possible to get them on side and make it harder for Arsenal.
It’s going to be incredibly difficult, but we can’t keep having stop-start moments in our season because eventually we won’t be able to get going again.
