‘They’re going to wait for five more season before they can be able to lift the title, even Chelsea will do better than them next season,I can assure you that’: Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has just predicted who’s going to win the Premier League next season – Arsenal or Man City
Didier Drogba has made his prediction on who will win the Premier League title at the end of the 2024/25 season – Manchester City or Arsenal.
The Gunners came ever so close to winning the title last season, but Pep Guardiola’s side proved to be too good in the end. City finished two points ahead of Arsenal and retained their crown.
Mikel Arteta will be desperate to pip his old employers to the title in the 2024/25 season, and Didier Drogba has now shared what he thinks will happen.
Didier Drogba predicts whether Arsenal or Manchester City will win the Premier League in 2024/25
Arsenal have finished second in two consecutive seasons in the Premier League.
They finished five points behind Manchester City in the 2022/23 campaign and then closed the gap to just two in the following season.
That shows serious improvement from Arteta’s men, but the next step for this Arsenal side would be to win the Premier League title.
Manchester City, as they have done for about a decade now, will start the season as the favourites to win the league next term.
Arsenal will be their main rivals for the title as Liverpool will likely have a year of transition while the other clubs are not good enough yet.
Alan Shearer, Gary Lineker and former Manchester City star Richards delivered their verdicts on Arsenal’s 2023/24 campaign, and the latter even revealed his prediction for the upcoming season.
“I think they will win it next year, Arsenal,” Richards said on the Rest is Football podcast.
Shearer believes the Gunners could go all the way if they get their recruitment right in this summer’s transfer window.
The one thing Arsenal need to do to dethrone Manchester City
Arsenal showed in the 2023/24 season that they have what it takes to go toe-to-toe with Guardiola’s Manchester City.
The Gunners played them three times and didn’t lose once. That showed they are good enough, but there is one thing City have that Arsenal don’t – squad depth.
Guardiola can turn to his bench to bring on players like Jack Grealish, Julian Alvarez and Jeremy Doku to change the game for his side.
Arsenal have quality players too, but they are just not on the level of those on the bench at the Etihad.
If Arteta and Edu can find a way to improve Arsenal’s squad depth this summer, there’s every chance they can win the Premier League title in the 2024/25 season.
