‘They’re not yet ready to challenge for the League if this is what they want to play in premier league’: Bruno Fernandez strong message to Arsenal as He Revealed their Weak point to them

Bruno Fernandes believes Manchester United youngster Kobbie Mainoo has a bright future ahead of him at Old Trafford.

Mainoo was handed his first-team debut in January against Charlton in the League Cup. He made his Premier League debut against Leicester a few weeks later and he only missed out on matchday squads at the end of the season due to injury.

The youngster has long been highly regarded by academy staff and he’s been informed by Erik ten Hag that he won’t be sent on loan this season, with the decision being made to keep Mainoo around the first-team environment instead.

Mainoo only celebrated his 18th birthday in April, but he’s started in every pre-season game so far, including Arsenal on Saturday night.

The Stockport-born lad started alongside Mason Mount and Bruno Fernandes and he impressed again. He was responsible for the assist for Fernandes’ opening goal and the 28-year-old was effusive in his praise for him after the victory.

Fernandes discussed what makes Mainoo an exciting talent and he predicted that he’s got a bright future ahead of him

“Honestly, Kobbie is a great player, he shows great resilience,” he told MUTV. “He’s always ready to work. He’s capabilities are high and everyone can see it [his talent]. He’s good on the ball, strong, he can defend and attack.

“You see how he attacked the space for my goal. He’s still pretty young, but we see a bright future for him and hopefully he will get more minutes, more time, and he will be a great player for us.”

Mainoo can be used anywhere in a midfield three, but it’s thought he will be best equipped to play in the No.8 role long-term. The club’s staff have challenged him in different roles in Under-21 games with a view to accelerating his development.

He recently signed a new long-term contract until the summer of 2027.
