Three changes made: Confirmed Manchester Utd’s starting XI vs Brighton & Hove Albion – as Ten Hag seeks revenge today
Manchester United take a trip to the Amex stadium where they take on Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League. The Red Devils are playing the first match of a game week for the second successive week in a row.
Erik ten Hag’s side had an impressive display against Fulham. The result might only be 1-0 but the team played a good brand of football and created a lot of chances and were let down by the lack of clinical finishing.
New signing Joshua Zirkzee had an immediate impact on debut, coming on in the second half and netting the match-winner. The Dutchman would be hoping that he has done enough to give Erik ten Hag confidence to start him against Brighton.
The Seagulls are coming into this game with an impressive 3-0 win against Everton behind them. They will take the game to Man Utd and might even dominate phases of it but this will give Ten Hag’s team the chance to do what they do best – hit them on the counter.

Andre Onana is nailed in to continue in goal and will be hoping for another clean sheet against Kaoru Mitoma & co. Noussair Mazraoui will continue at right-back after an impressive debut. New signing Matthijs de Ligt could replace Harry Maguire and partner Lisandro Martinez in central defence with Diogo Dalot taking the left-back role again.
Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo were a delight to watch against the Cottagers and should keep their place as the two holding #6s. Bruno Fernandes is likely to desert his false #9 role and return to a more familiar #10 role in a 4-2-3-1 system. This would mean that Mason Mount would have to drop to the bench.
Marcus Rashford is likely to keep his place on the left side of attack despite a poor outing against Fulham. Alejandro Garnacho might replace Amad Diallo on the right side of the attack with Joshua Zirkzee earning a start as the #9 after his impressive cameo.
Brighton are not an easy team to beat with Fabian Hurzeler setting his team up to score goals and play an attacking brand of football. This game is not going to be easy for Man Utd and it remains to be seen if Erik ten Hag can get his team over the line.
