Manchester United

Thursday Morning deal, Player’s medicals already booked and shirt number has been confirmed- Man united have reached agreement in principle to sign £40M rated player who is technically better than Trent Alexander Arnold next week

Manchester United want to reinforce their striking department and reports indicate, they can ‘move forward’ to sign Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP.

According to a story published by Correio da Manha yesterday, the Lions want to hold on to the player at least until the end of the campaign to improve their chances of winning the title.

Premier League clubs are highly interested in signing the Swedish center forward, who has a release clause of £86.8m (100 million euros) in his contract.

CM Jornal claim the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea can ‘move forward’ and pay the £86.8m clause to seal his signing.

Gyokeres is already one of the highest paid players at the club and he takes home around 45,000 euros a week.

Sporting are willing to reward the 25-year-old to ensure he stays until the end of the season. In January, he will only be allowed to leave if the valuation of £86.8m is met.

In the current campaign, Gyokeres has netted 10 goals in 13 league appearances for the Lions. In all competitions, he has started 19 times and directly contributed in no fewer than 25 goals (17 goals and 8 assists).

At Old Trafford, Erik ten Hag has not managed to replace world class goal scorers like Ronaldo and Cavani. Big money summer signing, Hojlund, has only scored a single goal in 15 Premier League outings for the Red Devils.

In your view, should Man Utd pay £86.8m to seal the signing of Viktor Gyokeres in January?
