Paul Scholes has slammed Marcus Rashford for appearing to be upset once again as Man United drew with Tottenham today.
Rashford got himself on the scoresheet today as he tucked away a fine finish to put United 2-1 up just before half-time. It was his first goal at home since earlier in 2023, and his form has been criticised since then.
The England forward seemed to celebrate in a way that suggested people need to stop talking. While when he was subbed off, he didn’t appear overly happy either.
However, rather than be impressed by Rashford looking to prove a point, Sky Sports’ Jamie Redknapp slammed the 26-year-old for not producing the goods enough.
“He’s got no right to be upset. He’s not done the business. It’s not good enough (scoring a first goal since May at Old Trafford). With his talent and what he can do to people he can twist them up, don’t go out and complain,” Redknapp said.

Rather than immediately doing something to fire back at people, Marcus Rashford needs to start concentrating on his football and scoring more goals.
Yes, some of the criticism at times can be a bit over the top. But ultimately, he hasn’t done the business this year at all and given he’s on enormous money, it’s just not good enough.
Redknapp makes a good point here in fairness to him. His fellow pundit Roy Keane also said in the same clip that Rashford needs to do more, and he’s right.
Man United fans and Erik ten Hag will be hoping this is the start of a good run for Rashford.
If he can indeed find the goals in the second half of the season, then there’s a good chance United end up having a decent enough season.
But as Redknapp says, Rashford has no right to be complaining and simply needs to focus on his game.
If he does that, then it’s good news for everyone who wants him to succeed.
