Transfer News: Arsenal held negotiations with 25-year-old English right-back.

Tottenham are exploring the possibility of signing Kyle Walker-Peters. It appears the Spurs are keen on reinforcing their options in the right-back position, with the Southampton defender emerging as the perfect choice.

A product of Tottenham’s youth academy, England international had played professionally for the Spurs for three years before joining the Saints in 2020.

Kyle has never had to look back since, having racked up 82 competitive games for the Saints, establishing himself as a crucial first-team footballer under Ralph Hasenhuttl in the process.

Walker-Peters’ pace out wide, coupled with his defensive diligence and overall athleticism have made him a perfect fit for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s tactical setup.

But it has also attracted interest from teams around England, with Arsenal also on the tail of the 25-year-old defender.

Arsenal have remodelled their back-line remarkably well over the past 12 months and it is just expected to improve as the Gunners eye a summer swoop for Josko Gvardiol.

However, there appears to be a glaring issue in the right-back department, where Tomiyasu has emerged as the only reliable option.

Cedric has served as an alternative under the Spanish boss, but there are questions being raised over the overall quality of the Portuguese defender, whereas Bellerin is set to be offloaded permanently, with the club looking for a fee of around £10m.

It has accentuated the need for a new defender, with Kyle Walker-Peters fitting the bill perfectly.
