‘Transfer postponed’ – Arsenal reportedly withdraws from signing Key transfer target as Mikel Arteta receives horrible news regarding ‘brutal’ player
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal could reportedly miss out on the signing of Ivan Fresneda from Real Valladolid in the final days of the January transfer window.
ARSENAL TARGET IVAN FRESNEDA TO STAY AT REAL VALLADOLID
Arsenal have been linked with Fresneda this month, but latest reports from Spain suggest that Valladolid have now decided not to sell the 18-year-old right-back, described as “fantastic” and “brutal” by his head coach Pacheta in MundoDeportivo in January 2023.
Marca journalist Chus Rodríguez has reported on Twitter this evening that Valladolid have decided not to sell Fresneda.
The plan is to keep the teenager for the rest of the season, unless something dramatic happens.
Rodríguez, who has over 14,000 followers on Twitter, wrote, as translated from Spanish: “Another good news for Real Valladolid: it seems that Fresneda is not going to appear in this market. The transfer is postponed, except for a last-minute surprise.”
TalkSPORT have reported that Arsenal are interested in signing Fresneda from Valladolid in the January transfer window.
The report stated that the Gunners were leading the race for the right-back.
Tuttosport have claimed interest from Tottenham Hotspur in the teenager as well.
SUMMER TRANSFER POSSIBLE?
It seems that Arsenal will be left disappointed in their quest to bring the Spain Under-19 international to the Emirates Stadium in the middle of the season.
However, the Gunners could still get the right-back in the summer of 2023.
After all, a big offer from Arsenal could be tempting to Valladolid at the end of the season.
And it’s not as if the Gunners are in desperate need of a right-back right now.
Ben White has been superb at right-back for Mikel Arteta’s side so far this season despite being a centre-back by trade.
