‘Unbelievable’: Sky Sports pundit in awe of Arsenal player after ‘brilliant’ 65th minute moment v Leeds

Sky Sports pundit Clinton Morrison was left in awe of one moment of defending from Arsenal defender, Gabriel, as they beat Leeds today.

The Gunners rode the storm at Elland Road in an entertaining game in West Yorkshire. Bukayo Saka’s first-half goal proved enough in the end, as Leeds had a goal disallowed through Patrick Bamford and then Bamford himself missed a penalty to keep Arsenal on top spot.

However, Arsenal wouldn’t have got the win without some brilliant defending. Leeds put them under massive pressure in the second 45 and the Gunners had Gabriel to thank in the 65th minute for saving their bacon. As described on Sky Sports by Clinton Morrison at the time, it was an ‘unbelievable’ piece of defending.

“What a block. It’s an unbelievable block from Gabriel. Leeds are dominating this, Sinisterra’s had a shot from six yards out and you think it’s going in, Gabriel, brilliant defending, great block,” Morrison said on Sky Sports.

Gabriel has been a rock at the back for Arsenal this season alongside William Saliba. The pair are quickly becoming one of the best duos in the league, and their desire and willingness to defend when it mattered today stood out.

TBR’s View: Gabriel Superb For Arsenal

The Gunners have made some fine signings over the last few windows and Gabriel is right up there in terms of the impact he’s had on the club.

Now with Saliba next to him, Gabriel looks better than ever and that piece of defending Morrison describes here sums up the Brazilian right now, albeit, he did get away with being sent off in the final moments.

Arsenal simply continue to march on and in yet another stiff test, they rode it out and came out with a huge three points.
