‘VALUABLE’:Folarin Balogun left stunned by Arsenal 23-year-old
Johan Djourou and Folarin Balogun have praised Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson on Twitter for his impact on the match against Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Nelson was the star of the show for Arsenal, who came from two goals down to beat the Cherries 3-2 in front of their own fans.
The 23-year-old winger came on as a substitute for Emile Smith Rowe in the second half.
The youngster immediately provided the assist for Ben White’s goal.
That made it 2-2.
Then late in the match, Nelson scored the winning goal for Arsenal.
Former Arsenal centre-back Djourou has praised the winger on Twitter, and so has striker Balogun, who is on loan at Reims in France at the moment.
IMPRESSIVE IMPACT AS A SUBSTITUTE
Reiss Nelson is a squad player at Arsenal, but he showed his quality and importance today with his impact as a substitute.
The winger’s assist for Ben White was brilliant, and he took his goal well.
The winger has not always had the best of times at Arsenal, and even after his heroics today, it is unlikely that manager Mikel Arteta will make him a regular in the starting lineup.
However, what it shows is that Nelson can be relied upon to make an impact as a substitute, or at least try.
