Ian Wright is delighted with the 21-year-old that Arsenal want to sign

Ian Wright is enthusiastic about Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite, who is reportedly a target for Arsenal.

The 21-year-old has become a target for Mikel Arteta after an impressive season at Goodison Park so far.
Arsenal are just one of a number of top clubs monitoring Jarrad Branthwaite, with Real Madrid, Tottenham and Manchester United also reportedly interested.

The youngster has been an ever-present for the Toffees this season and scored his second goal of the season in the 1-1 draw with Brighton on Saturday.

His latest performance for Everton was highly praised by Arsenal legend Ian Wright, who described the defender as a “monster”.
Wright impressed by Arsenal target Branthwaite
Speaking to Wright’s House, the former Gunners striker said Branthwaite deserved a call-up to England because of his impressive performances.

“I would like to give Jarrad Branthwaite flowers,” Wright said. “I think he will now be in the next England team. He’s got everything.
“If you look at how he plays, even on the left, he plays well. Very brave. And when you listen to his interview, he sounds like someone who says yes, I’m there, I’m here.

“He should have been drafted. And not only that, he should be playing too. Let’s take a look at him. I tell you, we have a monster on our hands at left centre. A monster.”
Branthwaite has quickly established himself as a regular under Sean Dyche this season and is considered one of the best prospects in the Premier League.

Unsurprisingly, a number of top clubs are already flirting with the centre-back, but if Arsenal decide to increase their interest in him, they will face stiff competition for his signature.

With Real Madrid also keen on him, Everton are expected to request around £75 million for the defender this summer.

Arsenal are also not desperate for reinforcements in central defence, with William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes having formed a formidable partnership over the past year.
