‘We now have His replacement’: premier league manager told Edu that they could now come and sign £70M top Arsenal target as his replacement has just been found

Everton appear to be planning for life without Arsenal target Amadou Onana by chasing Stade de Reims star Dion Lopy.

The Toffees didn’t seem to have a huge budget to work with last summer.

Spending most of it on Amadou Onana was somewhat surprising after just 58 league appearances in his career.

Onana cost Everton £33million but has proven to be worth every very penny so far.

The Belgian has produced some dominant displays in the middle of the parka and attracted major interest in the process.

Arsenal are understood to be very interest and were keen in January.

Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad reported last week that Arsenal are in ‘constant contact’ with Onana’s representatives ahead of a summer move.

Everton will of course want to keep hold of Onana and are allegedly demanding up to €70million (£61.5million).

It would be wise for Everton have potential replacements in mind though and Lopy appears to be their man.

EVERTON WANT REIMS STAR DION LOPY

The Daily Mail report that Everton are keen on signing Reims star Dion Lopy as they are ‘mindful’ that Onana could leave.

It’s suggested that Everton have been checking on Lopy in recent weeks ahead of a possible summer bid.

Everton aren’t alone in the race for Lopy though as Aston Villa are also interested.

Lopy was born in Senegal just like Onana and has now grabbed two caps for his country.

The 21-year-old has only started 14 Ligue 1 games this season but is doing enough to impress Premier League clubs.

There is real potential in Lopy, who has shown an ability to carry the ball, keep possession ticking over and protect his back four.

As Arsenal chase Onana, Lopy is a name to keep close tabs on with Everton planning for the future.
