Arsenal have been linked with Dusan Vlahovic for a long time and speculation is once again doing the rounds this month.
For instance, Sky Sports’ Gary Cotterill told The Arsenal Beat podcast earlier in January that the Gunners remain keen on the Juventus forward.
He also said the Bianconeri ‘would listen to a cash-plus-player offer’ for the £50million-rated man, ‘and there are also these tax rules in Italy which is something for them to consider’.
Now, Italian outlet TV Play has named an Arsenal player who could potentially be included as part of any deal to take Vlahovic to N5. Namely, Charlie Patino.
The outlet states that the Gunners, and in particular manager Mikel Arteta, have ‘never hidden their respect’ for Vlahovic.
Arsenal, who reportedly tried signing the 23-year-old before he joined Juve two years ago, could make another attempt this month.
The report claims there’s a ‘very concrete hypothesis’ on the table for the Gunners to make an approach for Vlahovic.
Arsenal would apparently not only propose ‘a rich cash settlement’, but also the ‘surprising’ inclusion of Patino, who is currently on loan at Swansea City.

Vlahovic would no doubt be an outstanding acquisition for Arsenal. He is, according to Kylian Mbappe, “one of the best of his generation”.
The Serbia international was also described as “an extraordinary player” by former Juventus teammate Federico Bernardeschi in April 2023.
When he was at Fiorentina, the 23-year-old made a name for himself as one of the very best young strikers in the world.
And while Vlahovic hasn’t hit those same heights at Juve, he’s still doing well for himself. Perhaps a chance of scenery might help.
At the same time, would Arsenal be willing to part company with Patino, one of the best players out of Hale End in recent years?
The Gunners clearly rate Patino highly. Considering he’s shining on loan at a Championship club, the next step tends to be the parent club’s first team.
He’s progressing nicely, and you’d like to think the Gunners would want him to stick around.
Nonetheless, Vlahovic is certainly a player Arsenal could do with, and it doesn’t look as though he’s indispensable at Juve.
