“We’ll respect his decision”: Newcastle Boss confirms he may not be able to stop their star player from joining Arsenal

Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has hinted that he may have no control over exits from the club in the summer, as Arsenal eye Alexander Isak.

Isak had an incredible season for the Toon this campaign and notched 24 goals for the club – but his performances has led to alot of speculation in the media that ARSENAL are interested in a potential deal.

It has been suggested on many occasions that Newcastle will not be keen on selling the big striker – but despite all that – there is still talk that the Gunners board will make an offer to try and get the Swedish star all signed up.

However, The Telegraph reports that Newcastle are not contemplating selling Isak this summer, with Eddie Howe considering the Sweden international as a focal part of his future plans.

The report claims that Newcastle have ‘laughed’ at reports suggesting that a £90m offer would be accepted for Isak and that ARSENAL would need to double that bid in order for discussions to take place.

Now amid all the speculation and the rumours – Howe has opened up and revealed that he may not be able to stop players from leaving the club onc ethe transfer window opens up in just a few weeks time.

“I don’t think it will be an overhaul but I am not in control of it. Some things might happen so you don’t know. I have seen it so many times where things you don’t expect unfold. So we have to be ready to adapt,” he told ChronicleLive.

“I think the most important thing that must happen is we have a stronger squad at the end of this window when we leave it.

‘But there’s no guarantees of that. I can only work as hard as I possibly can to make sure it happens.”
