Chelsea have just entered the third international break of the season in the top three of table following their 1-1 draw with Arsenal at the weekend.
A number of the Blues’ star performers stepped up with big displays again. Chelsea fans were wowed by Moises Caicedo yet again in the middle of the park.
With Cole Palmer enduring a quiet afternoon on his return from an injury scare, it was the job of the other attackers on the pitch to step up and take some responsibility.
They got this in the form of a sweet Pedro Neto strike from distance to level the game in the second half, culminating a seriously impressive performance.
Chelsea told Pedro Neto is a ‘superstar’
On a day where Noni Madueke angered fans by walking straight down the tunnel after being substituted, Neto switched wings before driving his side back into the game.
Of all the summer signings made by Chelsea, he is perhaps the one who has made the biggest impact on the Blues’ season so far.
Former manager Michael Bridges has waxed lyrical about Neto, telling The Optus Sports Podcast that he is delighted he remains in the Premier League.
He said: “A player that shone for me, Neto, obviously getting the goal, what a player, man. I am telling you this guy, the pace of him, the way he goes. I am absolutely delighted that he is back in the Premier League, and Chelsea have got an absolute superstar there.”
Enzo Maresca hoping to recall Jadon Sancho
Micah Richards has suggested Chelsea play Neto on the right-wing to get the best out of him. His perforamces so far have mostly been on the left of attack.
If this were to happen, it could spell bad news for Madueke after the international break. His perforamnces have dropped off slightly in recent weeks.
Maresca will likely be hoping to recall Jadon Sancho to the starting side when they return to club football, after a combination of injury and illness have kept him out for a few weeks.
