“When I was in Man City we were very scared of him and we always lose when he plays… I’m happy to play with him now”: Raheem Sterling names ONE Arsenal player who’s a nightmare to everyone at Man City including Pep Gaurdiorla himself
Raheem Sterling was the last and most surprising signing Arsenal made in the summer transfer window.
The Chelsea winger joined the Gunners on loan for the season with Sterling reuniting with former Manchester City coach Mikel Arteta, a figure who greatly helped the England international become one of the best attackers in the world for some time.
Since joining Chelsea, though, Sterling’s form has fallen off a cliff, with a move to Arsenal likely to inspire the 29-year-old to return to his best and to help the Gunners to the Premier League title, a trophy the winger has won four times in his career.
And Sterling has now shared how he feels reuniting with Arteta at Arsenal.
Sterling excited to work again with Arteta at Arsenal
Speaking to Arsenal’s official website, Sterling shared how excited he is to get back to work again under Arteta, with the on-loan Chelsea star also pleased to see how much good work the Basque coach has done since becoming manager of the Gunners.
With Arteta playing a huge role behind Sterling’s success at City, the pair reuniting could be the missing piece Arsenal are missing to win the Premier League, and the winger seems keen to get started at the Emirates Stadium.
Sterling said when asked about working with Arteta and if the England international is excited to play under the Arsenal manager this season: “He’s a top guy, a top character.
“I’ve been watching his journey after spending some time with him at City, and to see him come here and stamp his mark on this amazing football club with amazing history says a lot about him. You can see what a great job he’s doing here.”
