Emiliano Martinez and Noni Madueke were just some of the players to praise Arsenal star Bukayo Saka on Instagram after England’s early World Cup exit on Saturday.
Defeat to France ended England’s hopes of reaching the last four, with Arsenal’s Hale-End product perhaps being his side’s best player on the night, despite 90 minutes of frustration and anger from those in England colours because of the referee’s on-field officiating.
Madueke, who is now playing for PSV and came through Tottenham’s ranks as a youngster, told Saka in the comments section of his IG post that he is ‘world class’, whilst Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez, who is still in the competition with Argentina, sent heart emojis to the player. West Ham’s Declan Rice added ‘we go again’.
SAKA CAN HOLD HIS HEAD UP HIGH
This is major tournament number two ticked off for Saka and he is already starting to show why he is going to have years and years in the game.
With the talent coming through England’s ranks, the feeling is that this current crop of rising stars will have more chances to show and end England’s long wait to become champions.
Whether that’s lifting the European championships for the first time or securing the ultimate and becoming champions of the world.
Either way, someone like Saka, and his continued development in north London, will play a huge part in that, alongside the likes of Phil Foden and Jude Bellingham.
To think that, by the time the 2030 World Cup comes around, someone like Saka still won’t be in his 30s’, is pretty crazy and proof that long-term talent is on the table.
But, until then, Saka has to establish himself on the Premier League stage for his boyhood club even further and hope that he becomes one of the top players, and the only way to do that is secure those medals.
