‘Woww’: Emile Smith Rowe stunned by 23-year-old Arsenal player’s display vs West Ham last night
Arsenal picked up an impressive 3-1 win over West Ham United at the Emirates last night, and Eddie Nketiah silenced many of his doubters.
The Gunners absolutely dominated the game. They struggled to break the Hammers down in the first half, but goals from Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Nketiah after half-time sealed the clash.
Emile Smith Rowe seemed really impressed with Arsenal’s number 14.

One of the biggest reasons why Arsenal are on top of the Premier League table is Gabriel Jesus.
The Brazilian joined the Gunners from Manchester City in the summer and instantly took them to another level. He hit the ground running and was arguably their best player in the first half of the campaign.
Sadly, Jesus suffered a terrible injury at the World Cup, and he’s now set to spend a while on the sidelines. That made Nketiah Arsenal’s main striker, and a lot of people questioned the 23-year-old Englishman’s quality.
Nketiah had to step up to silence his doubters and he did just that last night. He got into some really good areas in the first half but was still far from his best. In the second half, however, he looked incredible.
His movement was good, he got on the ball well and showed amazing skill to score his goal. That sealed the win for the Gunners and everyone at the club was delighted for him.
Smith Rowe, who is currently out injured, was blown away by Nketiah’s display. “Wowww,” he commented on the striker’s Instagram post.
Arsenal old-boy Joe Willock wrote: “So happy for you bro!” Martin Odegaard and Charlie Parino also replied.
Arsenal need Smith Rowe back
Smith Rowe has only played 47 minutes of football since the start of the season. The Englishman had to undergo surgery to fix a groin issue, and he’s yet to return to full fitness.
Mikel Arteta revealed five days ago that the 22-year-old is ‘close’ and has started to train again. That is a massive boost for the Gunners.
Although their win last night was a comfortable one, especially in the second half, Arteta didn’t have too many options on the bench. Apart from Fabio Vieira, Arsenal only had young Marquinhos and Amario Cozier-Duberry as attacking options.
Smith Rowe’s return will be an incredible boost for the Gunners, who need all the help they can get to keep Manchester City away from them in the table.
