Wright says a lot of clubs will now want to sign 24-year-old Arsenal ace despite Newcastle blip
Ian Wright has said clubs will be lining up to sign Eddie Nketiah, as he continues to prove his mettle as the leading man for Arsenal, despite failing to score in his side’s latest 0-0 draw against Newcastle United.
Once it was discovered that Gabriel Jesus was set to be injured for a lengthy spell, many questioned whether Nketiah could do the business.
Yes, the 24-year-old showcased that he was a natural finisher for Arsenal at the backend of last season.
However, there remains a major difference between just scoring goals and doing so in a Premier League title race.
Additionally, Eddie Nketiah has never carried the goalscoring burden of an Arsenal side that were in the hot seat to win the league.
But the Hale End graduate is gradually putting every single doubt to bed.
In the three league games since the return of club football against West Ham and Brighton & Hove Albion, Nketiah has struck 2 goals.
While Nketiah did not register a goal against Newcastle, he was a menace all night, which just indicates that he is also doing his best to replicate Jesus’ brilliant all-round game.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has said that a host of clubs will be interested to sign the in-form Eddie Nketiah, who failed to score for the first time in three matches for Arsenal in their 0-0 draw against Newcastle United.
“Now, he’s [Eddie Nketiah] has come on and he’s actually scoring. This is his time to build his profile that profile, to be that guy.”
“What people will see is that when he came in, he was under pressure and he’s done it. Now people will say, ‘I want to take him as the main guy.’
“He’s now proving that he can deal with that. He can deal with the fact that ‘yeah, I can go in and be the main man.’
“His link-up play has been good, he sniffs around the box as well and he’s scoring the goals”, Ian Wright said on the Kelly and Wrighty Show.

Seeing how Eddie Nketiah joined Arsenal at just 14 years old, it is likely that he is just content with finally becoming a regular starter.

While Ian Wright is spot on about clubs perhaps taking an interest in signing the prolific striker, one expects the Gunners’ No.14 to be unconcerned about an exit for the time being at least.
Also, Eddie Nketiah will be focused on ensuring that unlike against Newcastle, he continues to hit the back of the net and cement his place at Arsenal first.
