Bruno Fernandes has shown his support for Nathan Bishop after the goalkeeper signed a permanent deal with Sunderland.
Sunderland announced the signing of Nathan Bishop last night, with the 23-year-old penning a permanent deal.
Manchester United confirmed Bishop has left for an undisclosed fee. He has signed a three year deal with the club.
United’s departure message noted: “Everybody at United would like to wish a hugely popular member of the squad the best of luck at his new club.”

In a departure message on Instagram, he wrote: “To everyone @manchesterunited players, staff and fans thank you for your support and greatness over the years! It’s been a pleasure!❤️
United players reached out to wish him well, including club captain Bruno Fernandes, who wrote, ‘You deserve the best mate’.
Bruno Fernandes shared a special bond with Nathan Bishop, with the goalkeeper signing for Manchester United on the same day he did back in January 2020
Bishop arrived as a back-up ‘keeper and did not play a single first team game for Manchester United. But behind the scenes, he played a vital role as part of the goalkeeper department while he was there.
He also spent one season on loan at Mansfield Town, where he showed his capability at a first team level.

Nathan Bishop had already gained first team experience at Southend United when he signed for Manchester United in 2020
His time at Old Trafford will have been a testing one, where he was brought on to provide cover and last season was fourth choice, not even making the first team squads
On the training ground, it will have been an invaluable experience, getting to work alongside David de Gea, Dean Henderson and Tom Heaton, and with Manchester United’s coaches
Now he will have a chance to put all of his learnings into practice, and begin the next chapter of what he hopes will become a long career.
