Despite the absence of news from the club, it seems highly unlikely that new signing Leny Yoro will play for Manchester United tonight after picking up an injury.
Yoro left the pitch after 34 minutes against Arsenal on Sunday and a video of him on crutches in a protective boot has been circulating on social media, leading fans to fear the worst.
Another player to have been subbed early in the first half against the Gunners was Rasmus Hojlund, and while his injury did not look so serious, we don’t expect him to be risked tonight.
Coming back into the reckoning will be Victor Lindelof, who missed the first three pre-season matches with a knock.
We expect him to partner Harry Maguire in central defence. Lisandro Martinez has not joined the tour and will train in Manchester.
Andre Onana will be in goal.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka is the only right back in the squad, so should start there, although United are reportedly very close to reaching an agreement with West Ham over a transfer, so it is possible he could be withdrawn. If that is the case, Lindelof will probably switch to right back with Jonny Evans coming in at LCB.
Young Harry Amass is expected to be given another start at left back after impressing on Sunday morning.
Diogo Dalot and Luke Shaw have also stayed behind in Manchester, while Tyrell Malacia is continuing his comeback from injury in individual training.
In central midfield, Toby Collyer also started and did well against Arsenal but as the new season approaches we expect a more likely first team starter such as Scott McTominay or Christian Eriksen to start this one alongside Casemiro.
Like Martinez, Shaw and Dalot, Kobbie Mainoo is training at Carrington.
If Hojlund is absent, Ten Hag could play with a false nine, possibly Jadon Sancho, who looked lively last time around. We expect Amad to play on the right, Mason Mount in the number 10 and Marcus Rashford on the left wing, as was the case last time.
Bruno Fernandes, Alejandro Garnacho and new signing Josh Zirkzee have also stayed behind in Manchester.
