Arsenal have been mentioned in transfer speculation involving Mason Greenwood, with the former Manchester United forward continuing to attract attention following his move to Turkish giants Fenerbahçe.

Greenwood is regarded as a technically gifted attacker who can operate on either wing or through the middle. His finishing ability, pace and confidence in one-on-one situations could make him an interesting option for clubs looking to strengthen their attacking departments.

However, there is currently no reliable confirmation that Arsenal are preparing an offer or negotiating a deal for the 25-year-old.

The forward completed his move to Fenerbahçe from Marseille in July 2026 after an impressive spell in French football. The Turkish club paid €39 million for his services, and Greenwood signed a four-year contract that runs until June 2030.

His arrival in Istanbul represented an important investment for Fenerbahçe, who wanted to strengthen their attacking options and challenge for major domestic and European honours.

Before leaving Marseille, Greenwood enjoyed an impressive individual spell. He scored 37 goals in 66 Ligue 1 appearances, establishing himself as one of the most productive attacking players in France.

Those performances attracted interest from several clubs during the summer transfer window. Fenerbahçe eventually secured his signature, beating competition from other interested teams.

For Arsenal, the attraction of a versatile forward is understandable. Mikel Arteta has consistently looked for players who can offer different attacking solutions and provide competition across the front line.

The Gunners have built a squad capable of challenging for major trophies, but maintaining attacking quality throughout a demanding season remains important.

Greenwood’s technical ability would make him an interesting name in any discussion about attacking reinforcements. He is comfortable receiving the ball in tight spaces, cutting inside from wide positions and creating shooting opportunities with either foot.

His ability to contribute goals could also attract attention from clubs looking for additional attacking productivity.

Nevertheless, signing him would be a complicated decision for Arsenal. His current contract with Fenerbahçe means any potential transfer would require negotiations with the Turkish club, which invested a significant amount to bring him to Istanbul.

There would also be wider considerations beyond football. Greenwood’s departure from Manchester United followed serious allegations, although the criminal proceedings against him were discontinued in February 2023. Any club considering a move would need to assess the public and reputational implications carefully.

Arteta would also have to consider how a new forward fits into Arsenal’s existing attacking structure. The club already has several players competing for important positions, and any additional signing would need to offer clear value.

For now, Arsenal supporters should treat the Greenwood story as speculation rather than an imminent transfer. No credible announcement has established that negotiations are taking place between Arsenal and Fenerbahçe.

The situation could change if genuine interest emerges in a future transfer window, but Greenwood remains a Fenerbahçe player.

Arsenal’s priority will be to maintain their competitiveness and ensure that Arteta has enough quality to challenge for silverware. Whether Greenwood ever becomes part of that project remains uncertain.
