Manchester United wonderkid Shea Lacey delivered a glowing performance against Atletico Madrid earlier today.

The Red Devils picked up their second win of pre-season with a 2-1 victory over Diego Simeone’s side.

Bryan Mbeumo scored a brace, which included a penalty, but it was Lacey who caught the eye with a dazzling display.

The 19-year-old started as the attacking midfielder for the Red Devils and won the first-half penalty scored by Mbeumo.

He continued to excel with other attributes and was eventually replaced by Joshua Zirkzee in the 73rd minute of the contest.

Aside from earning a penalty, Lacey made seven recoveries and won four duels. He also completed two dribbles out of three contested.

It was a sublime showing from the youngster, who could play some part for the Red Devils off the bench in the upcoming season.

Lacey currently finds himself behind Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo in the pecking order for the right wing position.

Similarly, he will be behind Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount for the number 10 role when everyone is available for selection.

The youngster is poised to stay with the first-team squad for the first half of the season at least before a possible loan is assessed.

United will continue their pre-season campaign against European champions Paris Saint-Germain in Gothenburg next weekend.

Fernandes has yet to return for pre-season training, and Lacey looks poised to earn another starting spot against Les Parisiens.
