Manchester United star Lisandro Martinez was forced off injured during the World Cup final with Spain – with the emotional star pulling up his shirt over his face.
Martinez had been named in the starting side for the defending champions – and shortly after picking up a booking was forced to the ground with an issue. Lionel Scaloni quickly made the decision to hook the emotional defender for Nicolas Otamendi.
And as he made his way off the pitch, a teary eyed Martinez pulled his shirt over his face and walked around the pitch towards the dugout: “Crying bro Lisandro Martinez is finally back in club form,” one fan said referencing his injury struggles at United.
“Lisandro Martinez doing the most Lisandro Martinez thing ever. Getting an injury just before club football starts,” a second fumed.
“Lisandro Martinez injured the last game of the tournament… you can’t make it up lmao,” a third said. As a fourth posted: “Lisandro Martinez is gone, let’s just sell him man can’t stay fit…”
And another added: “Death, taxes and Lisandro Martinez being injured after a run of games…”
