BREAKING: Man city owner announced new…..see more

Manchester City boss Enzo Maresca has confirmed the three academy players who will be promoted to the first-team for the upcoming season.

The Italian coach revealed that Kaden Braithwaite, Floyd Samba and Ryan McAidoo will all join the first-team at the Etihad. The trio, aged 18, 17 and 18 respectively, all travelled to Asia for City’s pre-season tour and have varying levels of experience.

Braithwaite made his first and only competitive appearance for City in the Carabao Cup against Watford two years ago. Samba has not yet made his debut for the first-team. Meanwhile, McAidoo featured and impressed twice in the FA Cup last season, scoring on his debut against Exeter City.

“I think we have three or four academy players that are going to stay with us,” revealed Maresca. “Because they impressed me in pre-season.

“That is Kaden, Samba and Ryan McAidoo. They are going to be with us.”

With just over a week remaining of the transfer window, summer business is far from over at the Etihad. The Blues are in need of new recruits after a number of recent departures.

Meanwhile, further sales are still likely. Savinho’s move to Tottenham Hotspur should soon be officially announced, with Omar Marmoush also expected to follow. It will leave Maresca’s squad looking a little light.

“For me personally, we need 21, 22 players,” insisted the City boss. “Around 20 players plus these three youngsters full of energy. Then we are happy.”
