Arsenal take on Ipswich Town in the third round of the League Cup at Portman Road. Last season’s run saw the Gunners make it to Wembley, where they sadly lost to Manchester City, which was quickly forgotten after winning the Premier League.
While the competition might be a distraction during these early stages, Mikel Arteta has said his side want to win and will be aiming to progress far. The game will also allow the Gunners to heavily rotate their side, too, with an important league game at Brighton to follow.

The first opportunity to see the Spaniard in action and his first competitive game since the ill-fated final where he made two high-profile errors. (No the game at Palace was not competitive).

The recently turned 17-year-old is Arsenal’s exciting youth talent in the back four and could come in to feature at right-back.
Cristhian Mosquera
Arteta admitted the Spaniard could have returned at Sunderland but missing the game it seems likelier he now makes the trip to Suffolk.
Gabriel
The likely mainstay in the team will be one of the centre-halves, and therefore Gabriel has the nod with a lack of left-footed depth in the back line.
Piero Hincapie
Riccardo Calafiori gets another midweek rest, and after not featuring in Sunderland, Piero Hincapie comes in to start.
Martin Zubimendi
The first start of the season for the Spaniard, whose minutes have been particularly harmed by Declan Rice and Myles Lewis-Skelly’s partnership.

Another making his first start of the competitive season, and after his goal in Sunderland, he will be in the mood for more.

After the hype of last season, having the chance to finally get some minutes is a long-awaited moment for the teenager.
Noni Madueke
A rest for Bukayo Saka means that Noni Madueke can come in on the right wing.

Barely a touch of the ball has been had this season for Viktor Gyokeres and so when these chances come he needs to take them.
Eberechi Eze
Rotating out Odegaard doesn’t mean Eze plays centrally, with Dowman instead chosen to play there with the England attacker needing time to acclimatise to the left wing role.
