BREAKING NEWS: “Man United will become the most scary team in the world if we sign that guy…I’m happy for this move.”: Man United legend Alex Ferguson excited by Man United latest move as the reds reached full agreement to sign a player would make them the most feared team in the world.

Alex Ferguson is excited after Man United agreed deal to sign the player who will turn them to the most feared team in Europe next season.

Manchester United look set to complete a deal to sign midfielder Ederson from Atalanta in what would be their first signing of the summer transfer window and Michael Carrick’s first arrival as new permanent boss at Old Trafford.

United are in the market for two central midfielders this summer, with Casemiro leaving the club at the end of his contract and the Red Devils open to selling Manuel Ugarte.

Elliot Anderson has always been the club’s number one priority, but United have cast the net wide in search of other potential targets to bring to the club and Ederson emerged as someone they could tie down.

GIVEMESPORT senior football correspondent Ben Jacobs revealed on Friday that the 26-year-old had verbally agreed a five-year deal with United, with the two clubs continuing to discuss the finer details of the transfer.

Then, according to Italian journalist Luca Cilli, terms were agreed between the two clubs, with a full agreement worth an initial €48million (£42million), plus another €5million (£4million) in add-ons said to have been reached.

And that was confirmed by what happened on Friday night.

Atalanta’s Serie A season came to an end on Friday night as they drew 1-1 at Fiorentina, securing UEFA Conference League qualification for next season in the process by finishing seventh.

They had all-but confirmed seventh place before that, but the point mathematically got the job done.

Ederson did not have a hand in helping them in their final match of the season, however. The midfielder was left out of the starting lineup by manager Raffaele Palladino, who did not bring him on off the substitutes’ bench either.

Speaking after the game, Palladino said: “Ederson out? It was a decision we agreed with the boy because there’s something going on in the transfer market. The fact that such a player is being followed by such a big club should be a source of pride.”

Carrick was confirmed as United’s new permanent manager on Friday, putting pen-to-paper on a two-year deal at the club, with the option to extend for a further year.
