BREAKING NEWS: Man United will win both the premier League and champions league next season if they sign this particular player, He’s the only player needed for them to excel”, Jurgen klopp reveals the ONE particular Man United must buy to win the champions league next season

Manchester United are poised to sign at least two midfielders during the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils ended the Premier League season on a high note with 71 points, and the focus will now turn to bolstering their squad with multiple signings.

The midfield could be the prime priority, given that Casemiro will be leaving on a free transfer. United are also prepared to cut their losses on Manuel Ugarte.

Amidst this, Tuttomercatoweb report that the club are close to securing the signature of Atalanta midfielder Ederson. A £43 million deal could be completed in the coming days.

Once his arrival is sorted, the Italian outlet add that the Red Devils have ‘plans to further pursue’ a deal for Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali, who could be signed for around £87 million.

Tonali would not suit United’s requirements
The 26-year-old has earned plenty of Premier League experience over the past three years with the Magpies. He had a decent 2025/26 season, making 53 appearances across all competitions.

The Brescia graduate also chipped in with three goals and seven assists for the Tyneside outfit, but we are still not convinced that he can provide the ball control which the Red Devils crave.

Tonali completed just 38 passes per game last season with an accuracy of 84 percent. The former AC Milan man won just three duels and one tackle per outing with four recoveries.

He is not someone who likes to engage in regular challenges. Tonali also has a habit of losing possession regularly. He lost the ball on 11.3 occasions per league appearance in 2025/26.

Based on this, Tonali does not justify the hefty £87 million price tag. He can be a good box-to-box midfielder, but would not suit United’s requirements for the number six position.

United need someone who is brilliant with the ball at his feet and has strong defensive traits. Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson would be an ideal fit, but he appears Manchester City-bound.
