BREAKING: Ruben Amorim wants REUNION with Man United best …..
New AC Milan head coach Ruben Amorim is reportedly interested in acquiring the services of Manchester United defender Noussair Mazraoui.
The Portuguese manager had an eventful 14 months at Carrington. He was sacked in January following a spectacular outburst during a post-match press conference at Elland Road.
While Man Utd’s fortunes have turned around since he was replaced by Michael Carrick, Amorim is looking to return on the right path himself after signing for Milan.
Ruben Amorim seeking a reunion with Noussair Mazraoui
Since Amorim’s arrival, Milan have been linked with several Man Utd stars, especially those who were favoured by the Portuguese tactician.
The first name to surface was Mason Mount, but the links swiftly died out, as Michael Carrick would like to keep the versatile midfielder at Carrington.
Amorim was also said to be interested in a reunion with Manuel Ugarte, who thrived under his tutelage at Sporting Club, but the Uruguayan suffered a devastating ACL injury at the World Cup.
In his latest appearance on Fabrizio Romano’s Italian YouTube channel, transfer market expert Matteo Moretto claimed that Amorim is tempted to reunite with Mazraoui at Milan.
The Italian journalist insists that no contacts have been made on this front just yet, but the Moroccan international is a profile Amorim truly appreciates, so it remains to be seen whether there will be concrete developments on this front.
“He’s a top player,” said Amorim when discussing Mazraoui during a press conference back in December 2024 (via the official Man Utd website).
“He understands the game. He knows how to attack, he’s very technical, he’s very good defensively and he’s very good one-on-one. He’s a modern player. I think he’s the future of our team.
“When you think about him, you think we need more players like Nous that can control the tempo, they are really, really good and comfortable with the ball. So, Nous, I’m really happy with him.”
Should Man Utd consider replacing Mazraoui with Julian Ryerson?
Interestingly, this story has emerged only a few days following a report from Bild, claiming that Man Utd are seriously evaluating a move for Borussia Dortmund’s right-back Julian Ryerson.
Needless to say, the Norwegian international is unlikely to arrive unless one of Man Utd’s two right-backs makes way first.
With Diogo Dalot cementing himself as Carrick’s first choice at right-back, Mazraoui would be the likelier option to depart.
But despite being a backup option, the Moroccan remains a valuable asset for United. While he spent the majority of the previous campaign on the bench, he kept his head down, worked hard in training, and was always ready to step up for his teammates, whether in his original role at right-back, on the opposite flank, or even as a central defender.

So unless INEOS are to receive a genuinely tempting offer, Mazraoui should be kept for next season, as his versatility and experience will come in handy.
The 28-year-old joined Man Utd in the summer of 2024, and sources inside the club had previously described him as United’s ‘best signing in years’, partially due to his modest transfer fee, with Bayern Munich agreeing to sell him for just £13 million.
